Diagnosis of acute testicular pain
The following examinations are performed in the event of testicular pain:
- Physician-patient dialogue
- Physical examination
- Classification of pain on the pain scale
- Urine analysis
- Blood analysis
- Ultrasound examination incl. Doppler sonography for blood flow measurement
Especially in the event of very acute pain, testicular torsion, involving the risk of loss of the testicle when waiting for too long, cannot always be ruled out with certainty. If the situation is unclear, it is therefore recommended to perform a surgery via a small incision in the scrotum. This is the only way to establish the correct diagnosis and select the appropriate treatment.
